京都大学大学院理学研究科准教授。博士(理学) (京都大学)。

専門は素粒子論、広くは理論物理学。
場の量子論のダイナミクスの解明と量子重力理論の構築が目的。
最近はとくに、数値計算における符号問題の解決に向けたアルゴリズムの開発と、確率過程から量子時空が出現する新しい重力理論の枠組み作りに取り組んでいる。
